Letter from G. Mantell, 1829
Letter to J. Sowerby, another fossil collector of note.
J. Sowerby, Esq., 2, Mead Place, Lambeth, Surrey
My Dear Sir, I should feel particularly obliged if you could now return the remainder of the fossils I had the pleasure of lending to you. Mrs. Mantell is in town & I am anxious to obtain them by this opportunity. I also wish a good impression of the portrait of your excellent Father and two or three on my 4th paper of the Tilgate uniones: the bill for the same, with the specimens, to be sent to Mrs. Mantell, at Mr. Woodhouse corner of Broad Street, Oxford Street, London, before Saturday next.
With great regard & every good wish believe me Yours my dear Sir, G. Mantell Castle Place, Lewes March 6th 1829 |
